Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ScaleSEO (“ScaleSEO”, “we”, “us”), a Shopify application that researches your store and generates, publishes, and tracks SEO/AEO blog content on your storefront. By installing or using ScaleSEO, you agree to these Terms on behalf of the merchant and store you represent. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

The service

ScaleSEO connects to your Shopify store to research your brand and products, generate blog content, publish that content to your store’s blog via the Shopify Admin API, and report on its performance and AI-search visibility. Features, limits, and models may change as the product evolves.

Eligibility & account

You must have an active Shopify store and the authority to install apps and grant the requested scopes for that store. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account and for all activity that occurs through your installation.

Plans, billing & trials

• New installs include a limited free trial (a fixed number of generated articles). Continued use beyond the trial requires a paid subscription.
• Paid plans are recurring monthly subscriptions billed through Shopify Billing. You approve every charge in Shopify’s own interface; we never see or store your payment details.
• Plan limits (e.g., articles per month) are described in-app and on our pricing page and may be updated with notice.
• You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin. Except where required by law, charges already incurred are non-refundable. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.

Your content & your responsibility

Content that ScaleSEO drafts and publishes to your store is your content: you own it and you are responsible for it. ScaleSEO drafts articles as reviewable drafts and provides an automated quality and compliance gate as an aid — not a guarantee. You are responsible for reviewing content before and after publishing and for ensuring it is accurate and compliant with all laws and platform policies that apply to your business.

No professional advice; health & regulated claims

ScaleSEO may generate content about products including dietary supplements, cosmetics, and other regulated categories. Such content is for marketing purposes only and is not medical, health, legal, or professional advice. Our automated health-claim check is a safety aid and does not constitute legal or regulatory review. You are solely responsible for ensuring published claims comply with applicable regulations (for example FDA/FTC rules in the United States or equivalent authorities elsewhere). You should obtain your own professional review where appropriate.

AI-generated content

Content and visibility metrics are produced using third-party AI models and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. AI-search-visibility results are estimates of how AI answer engines reference your content and are not guaranteed. Nothing in the service is a guarantee of search rankings, traffic, citations, sales, or any specific outcome.

Acceptable use

• Do not use ScaleSEO to generate unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful content, or content that violates Shopify’s policies or any third party’s rights.
• Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, reverse-engineer the service, or access data belonging to other merchants.
• Do not use the service to publish spam or content that violates applicable advertising, consumer-protection, or intellectual-property laws.

Intellectual property

The ScaleSEO application, its software, and its underlying models and know-how remain our property. You retain ownership of your store data and the content generated for your store. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service (to process your store data and generate and publish content on your behalf) as described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

ScaleSEO relies on third parties including Shopify, Vercel, Supabase, and AI model providers (via OpenRouter). Your use of the service is also subject to those providers’ terms, and their availability is outside our control.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will meet your requirements or achieve any result.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScaleSEO and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amounts you paid us for the service in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ScaleSEO harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of the content you publish, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

Termination

You may stop using the service and uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, for risk to the service or other merchants, or as required by law. On termination we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
